European Union Sanctions Against Russia
The European Union has adopted new sanctions against Russia, targeting the aluminum industry and limiting oil exports. The sanctions also include an embargo on certain types of aluminum products, disconnecting banks from the SWIFT system, and restricting entry for certain individuals from Russia. The decision on the sanctions was unanimously adopted by representatives of all EU countries and awaits final approval from the leaders of the member states.
In addition, the US has uncovered a scheme for the illegal supply of aircraft parts to Russia.
