Ryanair initiates a criminal investigation against a diplomat-passenger.

Ryanair has initiated a criminal case against a passenger who acted as a UN diplomat and insulted the crew on a flight to Spain. This was reported by the publication 'Glavcom' citing The Independent.
The incident occurred on January 17 during Ryanair flight FR2001 from Lanzarote to Santiago de Compostela. A man who identified himself as a UN representative and claimed to have 'diplomatic immunity' tried to occupy a seat that belonged to another passenger.
After the crew asked the passenger to present his boarding pass, he began to act aggressively and use offensive language. Following this, he was forcibly removed from the plane by the police.
Ryanair stated that due to this passenger's 'unacceptable behavior', the flight was delayed by 40 minutes, creating 'unnecessary inconveniences' for the other 137 passengers.
After two months, the company decided to privately investigate this incident through the Spanish legal system and accuse the passenger of disrupting the flight.
Ryanair emphasized that it does not tolerate improper behavior on board, and filing a lawsuit is one of the serious measures aimed at preventing similar incidents in the future.
A Ryanair representative stated: 'It is unacceptable for passengers, many of whom are traveling on a family vacation, to suffer due to unnecessary delays caused by one passenger's indecent behavior. However, this occurred to passengers on the flight from Lanzarote to Santiago in January when the troublesome passenger caused a delay in departure due to his misconduct. We have filed a private criminal case against this passenger, which may impose a penalty of imprisonment for a term of 3 to 12 months or a fine of 6 to 18 months of salary.'
The company hopes this example will stop further disruptive behavior on Ryanair flights so that passengers and crew can travel in comfortable and respectful conditions.
Ryanair rarely takes passengers to court, but in this case, such a step was necessary due to significant inconveniences for the flight and other passengers.
It should be noted that on a Turkish Airlines flight to Athens from Istanbul airport, a ground service employee Ali Celikten was forgotten during the baggage loading process.
Earlier, Gaziantep airport temporarily suspended all flights after an unidentified light object appeared in the sky.
