Ukrainian drivers reminded about the payment for the storage of license plates

According to a report by 'Khvylia', all car owners should know that if they sell their car but wish to keep their license plate, there is an option to use the storage service at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Plate storage can be ordered through the service center for a certain fee.

The deadline for paying for the storage of license plates is until March 31, 2025. After April 1, unpaid license plates will be destroyed by a decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

The Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasizes that plate storage is a paid service. The cost is 10.80 hryvnias per day (including VAT).

There are two options for extending the storage of a license plate:

• Personally visit the service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and pay for the service there.
• Use the driver's cabinet online, select the storage period, and make the payment. The service center will automatically receive information about the payment and extend the storage for the specified period.

It is important to remember that according to the law, license plates cannot be transferred between different service centers. However, a license plate can be passed to close relatives if there are supporting documents, such as a birth or marriage certificate.
