Is Trump a foe of the continent? Residents of EU countries participated in a survey.


Most European citizens consider U.S. President Donald Trump an enemy of Europe. This conclusion was made after a survey conducted by the French magazine Le Grand Continent and Cluster 17 based on data from Politico.
According to the survey results, 51% of respondents indicated that Trump is an enemy of the EU.
63% of respondents assert that Trump's election decreases global security.
Only 13% of those surveyed believe that the U.S. president respects democratic principles, while 43% consider him authoritarian and 39% think of him as a dictator.
Nearly 8 out of 10 respondents in eight countries believe that it is impossible to trust Trump's advisor Elon Musk, and the majority of respondents in Belgium, Denmark, and France are against the use of Tesla electric cars.
Only 10% of respondents believe that the EU can rely on the U.S. under Trump for its security and defense, while 70% think that the EU should rely solely on its own forces.
The survey was conducted in France, Belgium, Italy, Germany, Spain, Denmark, the Netherlands, Poland, and Romania from March 11 to 14 and involved 10,000 people.
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to impose a 25% tariff on goods from the European Union, stating that the EU was created to inflict economic damage on the United States.
Trump also announced the introduction of a 200% tariff on all wines and other alcoholic beverages from European Union countries if the EU does not lift tariffs on American whiskey.
The U.S. president called the European Union one of the most hostile and unfair tax and tariff bodies in the world, which was created to benefit from the U.S. through high tariffs on whiskey.
