Potato prices in Ukraine suddenly collapsed: what to expect in the coming weeks.

Wholesale prices for potatoes in Ukraine have decreased to 13-23 UAH/kg, which is on average 14% cheaper compared to the end of last week.
This information is reported by the analytical platform EastFruit.
Analysts explain that the main factor for the price decrease was a significant increase in the supply of both imported and local potatoes in the Ukrainian market. According to wholesale companies, there is currently quality old potatoes from Poland on the market, which costs the same as local potatoes.
Ukrainian farmers, evaluating the situation, do not rule out the possibility of further price reductions for potatoes, given the large volumes of supply in the market.
Despite the trend towards cheaper prices, the cost of potatoes in Ukraine remains on average 28% higher compared to the same period at the beginning of April 2024.
It is worth noting that at the end of March, Ukrainian farmers sell potatoes at a price of 16-26 UAH/kg, which is 12% cheaper than a week earlier.
