'Not enough': Macron, Merz, Tusk, and Kellogg react to Putin's proposal for negotiations.

Leaders of the 'coalition of the willing' on Russia's reaction to the call for a ceasefire
The leaders of the 'coalition of the willing' commented on Russia's reaction to the call for a 30-day ceasefire. This was reported by the publication 'Khvylia' citing the statements of the leaders of the countries.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz wrote on social media that he hopes for a positive reaction from Moscow to the 30-day ceasefire. 'Yesterday in Kyiv, we and our partners called for a 30-day cessation of hostilities to open the possibility for real negotiations. Ukraine agreed without any conditions or challenges,' he noted.
French President Emmanuel Macron also emphasized that Ukraine accepted the proposal for a 30-day ceasefire without any demands. According to him, an immediate cessation of hostilities is a necessary step to begin negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. It is impossible to have dialogue when the civilian population is being shelled.
Response to Putin's proposal
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk reacted to Russian leader Vladimir Putin's proposal for direct negotiations between representatives of Ukraine and Russia on May 15 in Istanbul. 'In response to our request, the Russians proposed to start peace negotiations on May 15. But the world expects a clear decision on an immediate and unconditional cessation of hostilities. Ukraine is ready. There is no need for more casualties!' Tusk stated.
U.S. Special Envoy Keith Kellogg also supported the approach expressed by European leaders. 'As President Trump emphasized - stop the violence!!! First, an unconditional 30-day cessation of hostilities is necessary, and only after that should comprehensive peace negotiations begin. Not the other way around,' he wrote on social media.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that he expects Russia to confirm the ceasefire. 'The whole world has been waiting for this for a long Time. And the first step towards a real end to any war will be the cessation of hostilities. There is no point in continuing the killings even for one more day. We hope that Russia will confirm the ceasefire - complete, sustainable, and reliable - starting tomorrow, May 12, and Ukraine is ready for this,' the leader of Ukraine emphasized.
Analyzing the material, it can be noted that international leaders are advocating for an immediate cessation of hostilities in eastern Ukraine as a prerequisite for peace negotiations. The proposal for a 30-day ceasefire has received support from several state leaders, indicating a willingness to cooperate and end the conflict. Determination in achieving peace is noted by both Ukrainian and world political figures.
