Doctor of geological sciences refuted media information and gave a sober assessment of the value of Ukraine's natural resources.

Professor Volodymyr Mykhailov claims that
the assessment of the value of Ukrainian natural resources at $14.8 trillion, published by Forbes, is inflated. In his opinion, this amount includes resources and reserves, and resources are always greater than reserves. However, it is difficult to accurately determine the value of reserves, yet he estimated them at $5 trillion.
Volodymyr Mykhailov also noted that Ukraine has the potential to supply rare earth metals and other natural resources to the EU, but this opportunity is not being utilized so far. The USA, on the other hand, is heavily dependent on the import of these materials and may obtain them from Ukraine. This conclusion was drawn by the scientist based on his table, which highlighted Ukraine's export resources.
It should be noted that Forbes previously estimated the value of Ukraine's natural resources at $14.8 trillion, with about 70% of them mainly located in three regions of the country. Ukrainian and American teams are negotiating a deal regarding the extraction of these natural resources. The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has not yet approved the proposed agreement, but White House spokesman Brian Hughes believes that this decision is inappropriate.
