Shakhtar's head coach was suspended for nine months for arguing with the referee.


The head coach of 'Lyon', Paulo Fonseca, has been suspended for an unprecedented term due to an attempt to physically influence the referee during the match against 'Brest'. The coach received a nine-month suspension.
The coach was suspended for nine months for attempting to influence the referee in the match of the 24th round of Ligue 1 against 'Brest'.
This incident occurred after the first half when Fonseca argued with the head referee Benoit Millot and was sent off. He received a suspension until November 30, as well as a prohibition from attending official football-related events and being with players in the locker room until September 15. This is an unprecedented punishment.
Fonseca previously worked as the head coach of 'Milan', but was dismissed due to unsatisfactory results. Since 2024, he has been the head coach of 'Lyon'. Before that, he coached Donetsk's 'Shakhtar'.
