Yermak and Sibiga talk about the results of negotiations in Jeddah.

The Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak disclosed details of the negotiations in Saudi Jeddah, claiming that Ukraine agreed to a 30-day ceasefire, which is only the beginning of achieving a full-fledged peace settlement. Further discussions will depend on the Russian side.
'The key today lies with the Russian side, and the whole world will see – who wants peace and who is just talking about it. It is indeed stated that Ukraine is ready to accept, if Russia agrees, the first step – a ceasefire for 30 days. To begin preparing a more important document, preparing negotiations,' Yermak stated.
Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga emphasized that the temporary cessation of fire does not imply freezing the conflict: 'The importance of such a temporary ceasefire lies in the fact that it is in no way about a frozen conflict. It is only about trying to start the path to ending the war in a just manner.'
Yermak also reported that the framework agreement with the USA concerning minerals is ready for signing from the Ukrainian side and will be formalized when the American side finds it convenient for them.
'We discussed all the issues related to the ending of the war, ending the war with a just peace. We shared our thoughts, principled positions with colleagues and heard their opinions. What you saw is the result of this statement, that we are together, that we are equally moving towards the long-expected just peace for all Ukrainians with the help of our main strategic partner,' the head of the Presidential Office emphasized, adding that the joint statement also mentions the participation of European partners in the peace process.
The negotiations in Jeddah are taking place against the backdrop of increased international efforts to establish peace in Ukraine. Earlier today, French President Emmanuel Macron, during a meeting with chiefs of staff from 30 countries in Paris, called for practical planning of security guarantees for Ukraine after the war ends. He emphasized the necessity to 'move from concept to plan' to ensure reliable guarantees that would enable 'a lasting and stable peace.'
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer welcomed the agreement reached in Jeddah, calling it 'a wonderful breakthrough' and praised Presidents Trump and Zelensky. The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen also characterized Ukraine's agreement to a ceasefire as 'a positive development', noting that 'the ball is now in Russia's court.'
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio thanked Donald Trump for his leadership and the hospitality of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on social media, noting that the world has gotten 'a step closer to establishing lasting peace in Ukraine.'
It is worth noting that Rubio, Macron, von der Leyen, Starmer, and Tusk expressed their views on the prospects.
Earlier, Trump also commented on Ukraine's agreement to the ceasefire and the possibility of contacts with Zelensky and Putin.
