The European Commission plans to integrate Ukraine's energy market into the European one: deadlines announced.


The European Commission anticipates full integration of the energy markets of Ukraine and Moldova into the European market by the end of next year
According to the 'Glavcom' website, President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen stated that the European Commission expects the integration of the energy markets of Ukraine and Moldova into the European market by the end of next year.
Ursula von der Leyen said during the plenary session 'Support Ukraine' in Kyiv that the European Commission is actively working on a package of energy security measures for Ukraine aimed at ensuring a resilient, safe, and competitive energy system.
The President of the European Commission noted: 'The European Commission has prepared an ambitious package regarding energy security. The goal is to guarantee a resilient, safe, and competitive energy system for Ukraine.'
Ursula von der Leyen also reported that Europe has provided Ukraine with 1.8 GW of electricity this winter.
The President of the European Commission added: 'But now we are fully integrating the Ukrainian and Moldovan energy markets into the European one by the end of next year. And we will use 80% of the total gas reserves, which will increase the energy security of the European Union and Ukraine.'
In Kyiv, on the third anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, the 'Support Ukraine' summit is taking place, attended by leaders of partner countries and high-ranking officials of the European Union.
The summit aims to strengthen partnership and cooperation between the European Union and Ukraine.
