Europe to Strengthen Rules for Drivers: Who Will Be Stripped of Their License.

The Driving Ban Will Be Applicable for Drivers Across Europe
The European Union has adopted a new directive that strengthens quarantine measures for drivers who violate traffic rules. From now on, if a driver breaks the rules in any EU member state, they may be stripped of their right to operate a vehicle throughout the European Union.
Previously, the driving ban applied only within the territory of the country where the violation occurred. The new directive changes this provision: now, the country that issued the driver’s license is obliged to recognize and uphold the decision to revoke the license made by the authorities of another EU country.
This means that a driver is prohibited from getting behind the wheel not only in the country where they violated the rules, but also in their own country, even if the license was issued there. This approach is aimed at increasing discipline among drivers and ensuring greater safety on the roads of the European Union.
The new rules will mainly apply to serious traffic violations, such as driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or traffic accidents with tragic consequences.
In order for the ban to become a pan-European measure, the driver must be given a license revocation in the country where the violation occurred for a duration of at least three months. Additionally, all possibilities for appealing the decision must be exhausted.
A preliminary agreement has been reached between the European Parliament and EU member states. However, the document has not yet undergone final formal approval, and it is currently unknown when this will take place.
The introduction of mobile driving licenses has previously been agreed upon in the European Union.
