The European Union will continue to support Ukrainian air navigation until 2026: details of the agreement.

Agreement on the extension of the European Fund for Voluntary Air Navigation Solidarity
Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration Oleksii Kuleba and Eurocontrol Director General Raúl Medina Caballero signed an agreement to extend the European Fund for Voluntary Air Navigation Solidarity until 2025-2026.
This Fund aims to support Ukraine's air navigation industry during the suspension of civilian flights.
'We are honored on behalf of Ukraine to express our sincerest gratitude personally to Mr. Medina, to the entire Eurocontrol team and its member countries for their unprecedented support of the industry and solidarity during almost three years of war. Thanks to the European Fund for Voluntary Air Navigation Solidarity and the professional and transparent management of the Fund by Eurocontrol, Ukraine has been able to maintain the national air navigation system and high operational readiness for the quick restoration of civilian flights in Ukrainian airspace,' emphasized Oleksii Kuleba.
We agreed to extend the Fund's operation with the support of all Eurocontrol member countries.
'Since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Eurocontrol and its 42 member states have shown solidarity with Ukraine. The extension of the Fund for another two years is a testament to our commitment to continue this support. Since my last visit two years ago, I see how difficult the struggle has been and what challenges our partners in Ukraine are facing, but I also clearly see the determination of those working in the aviation sector, including Ukrairorukh, the State Aviation Service, and Boryspil Airport, to be ready to restore air connections as soon as possible. We will continue to support our Ukrainian colleagues working towards this goal,' stressed Raúl Medina Caballero.
According to the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, the Eurocontrol Solidarity Fund was established at the end of 2022 and is funded by the participating countries of the Fund on the basis of voluntary contributions. In Ukraine, the Fund is a key source of financing for the air navigation service provider Ukrairorukh. Throughout 2023 and 2024, the Fund has provided and continues to provide financing for the entire air navigation system of Ukraine for a total of over 70 million euros.
