The head coach of Madrid's 'Real', Carlo Ancelotti, has come to court in Spain on charges of tax evasion. According to Marca, he faces up to five years in prison.
The coach earned the charges during his tenure at 'Real' from 2013 to 2015. The prosecution demands a long sentence for him.
'I never thought that this could be considered fraud, although since I'm here, perhaps everything was not so correct. I was only interested in receiving €6 million 'net' from the club, and I did not receive any notifications about investigations from the prosecution,' Ancelotti noted.
According to the investigation, Ancelotti failed to pay over €1.1 million in taxes, including €386 thousand in 2014 and €676 thousand in 2015, when he worked at 'Real Madrid'.
The prosecution seeks four years and nine months in prison for the coach, as well as the payment of the entire tax debt of €3.2 million, including fines.
