At the Paris Olympics, fencer Olga Kharlan won an award which she dedicated to Ukraine. She shared this in an interview with "Suspilne Sport". According to the athlete, this medal is gold for her.
«I don’t know what I did. It’s just indescribable. I dedicate this to all of Ukraine, friends, this is for you. I dedicate this to our defenders. I dedicate this to those athletes who cannot come here because Russia killed them», – said Olga Kharlan.
Olga Kharlan defeated South Korean athlete Sebin Choi and won the bronze medal. This is the first medal for Ukraine at these Olympic Games in Paris. Olga Kharlan had already become an Olympic champion in 2008 and a silver medalist in 2016.
It is also important to note that Kharlan is a six-Time world champion and an eight-time European champion.
