Hürriyet revealed the timeline for possible peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia.

According to the Turkish publication Hürriyet, peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia may begin in April-May 2025. These negotiations will precede a meeting between US Presidents Donald Trump and Russia's Vladimir Putin.
In the previous spring negotiation process that took place in Istanbul in 2022, the preliminary conclusion of a peace treaty was hindered by the US and the UK, who desired the continuation of the war.
However, the situation has now changed, as Trump seeks to end the conflict and Putin is also more inclined towards a peaceful settlement.
Turkey may play a certain role in this process, and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan could act as a mediator, as he is the only one who supports dialogue with both leaders - Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump has also joined this dialogue.
Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has previously stated his country's readiness to provide a platform for peace negotiations, believing that the Russian-Ukrainian war is approaching a critical point.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow has not yet received any signals from the US regarding a possible meeting between Putin and Trump, but the Kremlin is ready for such dialogue. According to Hürriyet, the negotiations should be preceded by a complete ceasefire along the entire front line.
