ISW: Different versions emerged in Russia about the events in the Kursk region.

Combat operations on the border of the Kursk region: Russian bloggers contradict government reports
Aleksey Smirnov, acting governor of the Kursk region, and several Russian military bloggers reported combat operations on the border of the Sudzhansky and Korenevsky districts. This information contradicts data provided by the Russian Ministry of Defense and the FSB. According to analysts, Russian sources claim that on August 6, Ukrainian troops conducted raids in the Kursk region.
The Russian Ministry of Defense and the FSB stated that they repelled several raids by Ukrainian forces equipped with tanks and armored vehicles. According to reports, Ukrainian forces were advancing on Russian positions near Nikolaevo-Darino and Oleshnya, Kursk region.
Geolocated footage published on August 6 shows damaged and abandoned armored vehicles near the border west of Lyubimovka, Kursk region. However, ISW cannot confirm whether this equipment belongs to Ukraine or Russia.
According to Russian bloggers, Ukrainian forces attacked from two directions - from the Sudzha checkpoint and the village of Novoe in the Sumy region towards Nikolaevo-Darino, Kursk region.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that Russian reserve forces responded to possible Ukrainian raids, but ISW cannot verify this information.
It was noted that Russian troops destroyed 16 Ukrainian armored vehicles during the raids and conducted strikes on Ukrainian positions in the Sumy region.
Videos published by Russian bloggers, allegedly showing the aftermath of the raids, actually indicate damage from Ukrainian shelling and do not indicate ground combat in this area.
