China limited transit through Russia due to confiscations of cargo

China has reduced the volumes of cargo transit through Russia due to constant confiscations of their goods by Russian customs. According to 'Glavkom', suppliers have lost trust in this route.

We do not dare to send goods by rail since November. - said Andrew Jiang, CEO of Air Sea Transport.

In October 2024, Russia intensified control over transit, focusing on products that may have military purposes. As a result, confiscated goods remained on the territory of the RF, leading to a halt in the logistics flow from Russia to Europe. Up to 80 thousand containers were transported monthly.

In this regard, China and Kazakhstan have started using a new railway route that bypasses Russia and passes through Turkmenistan, Iran, and Turkey. In addition, alternative routes through Central Asia and the Caspian Sea are being developed.

US President Donald Trump doubled tariffs on goods from China due to the fentanyl issue. In response, China expressed readiness to fight to the end if the US wants to wage a war.

Also, Ukraine and China signed an agreement to expand the list of Ukrainian agricultural goods exported to China.
