Utilities, Transport and Legal Assistance: What Services Can Pensioners Receive for Free or at a Discount.

According to the modern economy, pensioners can receive significant state support in the form of free services and large discounts. Ukrainian pensioners have the opportunity to use public and suburban transport for free if they present their pension certificate. However, this benefit does not apply to taxi services.
Additionally, according to Article 281.1 of the Tax Code of Ukraine, pensioners are completely exempt from land tax payments.
Particular attention should be paid to utility payments. Pensioners who worked in rural areas and continue to reside there receive a 100% discount on housing and communal services, the purchase of solid and liquid household fuel, and liquefied gas.
'This type of assistance can be obtained at any branch of the Pension Fund,' they explain at the PFU. Free primary legal assistance is also available for all pensioners and free secondary legal assistance for those whose pension does not exceed 4,722 hryvnias or 6,056 hryvnias for persons with disabilities, which includes support during legal proceedings.
The Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 585 grants pensioners the right to free parking in paid parking lots, making it easier for them to move around the city.
In addition to this, it is worth noting the free services for passengers of Ukrzaliznytsia and their rights to passenger tickets.
