Toy Prices Rise Due to New Tariffs

The American company Mattel, known for its Barbie doll, plans to raise prices on its products in the U.S. due to tariffs imposed by President Trump on goods from China and other countries. This news became known through Mattel's data.

In light of this, the company has canceled its financial forecasts for next year, explaining this by the instability of tariffs in the U.S. About 40% of Mattel's toys are produced in China, which has a 25% tariff.

'We plan to shift some production to minimize the impact of tariffs and diversify the supply chain. We will also make price adjustments in the U.S.,' the company stated.

Amid these events, President Trump expressed concern over rising prices on goods: 'Perhaps children will have two dolls instead of 30, and they will cost a little more,' he added.

American retailers have already warned in advance about potential problems with product supplies and rising prices. Overall, the holiday shopping season of 2025 may be significantly complicated due to tariff policy and market instability.
