Doctor Accused of 'Friends' Star Matthew Perry's Death Pleads Guilty.
A federal court has decided to ban one of the doctors accused of the death of 'Friends' star Matthew Perry from ketamine overdose from practicing medicine. The court has set bail conditions and ordered him to surrender his passport and cease activities in the medical field. The doctor expresses remorse through his lawyer and plans to sign a plea agreement with prosecutors. His lawyer refused to comment on the case.
Another accused doctor pleaded not guilty, and the co-defendant, known as the 'ketamine queen', illegally supplies drugs. Perry's personal assistant and an alleged intermediary have also pled guilty.
In total, five people have been charged in connection with the actor's death.
Matthew Perry died in October 2023 from a ketamine overdose. He was found in a hot tub at his home. Tests showed a high level of ketamine in his blood, which is used to treat depression and anxiety but can also have recreational effects. Ketamine can cause hallucinations and psychedelic effects.
