Lithuania refused to play against Belarus in the World Beach Soccer Championship qualifiers.

The Lithuanian team played the round of 16 match in the 2025 Beach Soccer World Cup qualifying tournament against Belarus. This was reported on the Lithuanian Football Association's website.
The tournament takes place from October 4 to 13 and involves 21 European national teams, which are divided into six groups. The Lithuanian team finished third in its group and advanced to the playoff qualifier. Belarus also advanced from its group and faced the Lithuanian team in the round of 16.
Unfortunately, however, the Lithuanian team decided not to participate in this match. Lithuanian Football Association President Edgara Stankevičius explained this decision by stating that their team's values are above sporting achievements. He also added that this decision was discussed with the national team and it will demonstrate their stance on this issue.
Despite this, the Belarusian team advanced to the next stage of qualification, where they will compete in Group A for a chance to qualify for the 2025 Beach Soccer World Cup.
