IAEA recorded explosions near Zaporizhzhia NPP.

Representatives of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed the occurrence of loud explosions near the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, as reported by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
The IAEA support and assistance mission, which was working at the plant, heard two explosions at 12:45 and 15:45, as well as gunfire. However, these incidents did not have any impact on the equipment and personnel of the NPP.
It is noted that reports of the explosions were temporally coincident with reports of a drone attack on the training center of the plant. The explosions posed yet another threat to nuclear safety at the largest NPP in Europe, occurring near the training center.
It is recalled that the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Halushchenko, stated that the situation at Zaporizhzhia NPP is becoming extremely dangerous due to constant interruptions in external power supply.
As was already reported, Russian pilots are using the territory of the NPP for training FPV drone pilots. They are actively terrorizing the city of Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region, using it as a testing ground.
IAEA recommends not to launch reactors at Zaporizhzhia NPP while the conflict is ongoing.
