The Ministry of Digital Transformation assessed how many hours Kyivstar, lifecell, and Vodafone can operate without power.

According to information from the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, the country's leading mobile operators are actively preparing for possible prolonged power outages, capable of providing network operation for 4-6 hours without external power.
According to "Suspilne", the Ministry of Digital Transformation reported that most networks can function without power for approximately 4 hours. However, operators are constantly improving their backup power systems.
Kyivstar reported that 60% of their stations can work for more than 4 hours, and 40% - for 2-3 hours. The company plans to increase the number of stations with autonomous power to 6 hours and install generators for up to three days of operation.
lifecell has equipped most of its over 10 thousand base stations with new lithium-ion batteries that provide up to 4 hours of autonomous operation. More than 1700 stations are connected to generators.
Vodafone Ukraine also has thousands of base stations with lithium-ion batteries that provide autonomy from 4 to 6 hours. The company is considering installing diesel generators at critical facilities.
However, Pribitko noted that achieving the requirement for 10-hour autonomous operation of base stations by February 1 might be a problem for operators.
In addition, earlier, mobile operators explained how to stay connected during power outages.
