The Ministry of Health and the World Bank are implementing a new project: details.

The Ministry of Health and the World Bank are implementing a new project 'Transformation of healthcare through reform and investment in efficiency' (THRIVE).
The Ministry is collaborating with the World Bank on transforming the healthcare system. Thanks to previous projects, medical institutions received modern equipment, launched a rehabilitation center for military personnel, implemented a vaccine storage system, upgraded laboratory equipment, and procured special equipment for disinfecting medical waste. Medical institutions have also become more energy-efficient and received photovoltaic power plants. Improving the quality and accessibility of medical care is a priority of this project,' said Ihor Kuzin, Deputy Minister of Health.
The project 'Transformation of healthcare through reform and investment in efficiency' (THRIVE) aims to finance the medical guarantees program and increase the capacity of medical institutions and organizations. The government allocated 207 million hryvnias for healthcare development within the framework of this project. The project also allowed Ukraine to receive 220 million US dollars in 2024.
Projects in healthcare
Currently, the Ministry of Health and the World Bank are actively implementing two projects: 'Emergency response to COVID-19 and vaccination in Ukraine' and 'Strengthening the healthcare system and saving lives' (HEAL Ukraine). As part of these projects, medical institutions received necessary equipment to combat COVID-19, as well as rehabilitation equipment and vehicles to ensure access to medical care in remote communities. Photovoltaic power plants are also being installed to provide energy to medical institutions.
Strengthening the healthcare system
Within the framework of the HEAL Ukraine project, which is financed by the World Bank and the Council of Europe Development Bank, the supply of rehabilitation equipment to 198 healthcare institutions is ongoing. Photovoltaic power plants are also being installed to provide energy. Overall, many pieces of equipment and vehicles have already been procured to improve the healthcare system in Ukraine.
