The IMF transferred a billion tranche to Ukraine: where the funds will go.

Ukraine has received the sixth tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Overall, this IMF program is designed to ensure the economic stability of our country during the war. Thanks to these funds, Ukraine can reduce budget gaps and ensure important state functions. In particular, 1.1 billion dollars that have been transferred to Ukraine will be used to finance critical expenditures of the state budget.
This sixth tranche is part of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program, which the IMF approved in March 2023. Over the entire period of this program, Ukraine has already received 9.8 billion dollars. Overall, the Ukrainian program is part of a support package from the IMF worth 148 billion dollars.
Earlier, Germany provided a new package of military aid to the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the 'New Year's gift'.
