Former mayoral candidate of Kryvyi Rih found dead in Dnipropetrovsk region.

In the village of Kudashivka in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the body of Dmytro Shevchyk, a former candidate for mayor of Kryvyi Rih and former CEO of the Central Mining and Enrichment Plant, was found. According to preliminary data, it may be suicide, as the man was found with a hunting rifle. Shevchyk is survived by his wife and three sons. Currently, the police are working at the scene.
Dmytro Shevchyk ran for the position of mayor of Kryvyi Rih in 2020 representing the "Servant of the People" party, but his opponent, Kostiantyn Pavlov from OPZZh, won. Pavlov became a candidate for the second round of elections as Yuriy Vilkul, who received more votes, withdrew his candidacy. As a result, Pavlov received support from 56.97% of the voters and defeated Shevchyk. It is worth noting that before the elections, Pavlov promised to transform Kryvyi Rih into a modern and comfortable city, where innovative clusters, parks, and beaches would be created, and schools and hospitals would be repaired at the expense of the budget.
This death of Shevchyk became the third in the family. Two months after the death of Kostiantyn Pavlov, his brother also died. A month later, death struck his cousin. The exact circumstances of their deaths have not been established.
