After the night rains that hit Lviv region on July 10, the Shchyrka and Zubra rivers overflowed their banks. As a result, streets in the villages were flooded, homes and parked cars were submerged.

This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Lviv region.

The most difficult situation was observed in the villages of Sknyliv, Zubra, and Sokilnyky. The water also flooded part of the highway 'Lviv – Pustomyty – Medenychi', complicating transportation.

In the village of Sknyliv, rescuers successfully evacuated four people, including two children, and also saved two dogs.

In addition, the emergency services were pumping water out of the flooded power plant using a special pump.

To eliminate the consequences of the bad weather, 38 employees of the State Emergency Service and 7 units of special equipment were involved.

Overall, as of the morning of July 11, rescuers made 56 trips and pumped out nearly 10,000 cubic meters of water.

It should be noted that a few days ago, a strong storm front with heavy rains passed through Lviv region. This caused road flooding, and some witnesses even spotted tornadoes.

After the night rains and the rivers overflowing their banks, floods began in the villages of Lviv region, and rescuers called for help are conducting evacuations and pumping out water. The bad weather created a difficult situation, but prompt response helped avoid serious consequences.
