In Vinnytsia region, the number of protocols for violation of the language law has increased.


The number of language law violations in Vinnytsia region has almost doubled
In 10 and a half months of 2024, 18 protocols were drawn up in the Vinnytsia region for violating the language law, which is 1.7 times more than for the entire last year. This is reported by Opentadatabot analytics, with reference to the Secretariat of the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language across the country. In total, 216 violations of the language law were recorded in Ukraine this year.
Despite the increase in the number of violations, appeals regarding violations of the language law have decreased this year. There have now been 64 fines and 91 warnings imposed for violation of the language law.
According to the analytics, this year Ukrainians most often complain about the absence of a Ukrainian version of the website (525 appeals or 29% of the total number of appeals). Also, in 16% of the appeals (288), the reason for the complaints is service in Russian, and 14% (247) of the appeals are related to advertising.
Earlier, Kyiv was leading in the number of complaints about violations of the language law. Only in the first half of 2024, 365 appeals were registered in the capital.
