A hackathon is an organized event during which specialists from various fields form teams and solve specific tasks or develop effective solutions within a limited Time (usually 24 hours).
Depending on the complexity of the task, it can be announced at the beginning of the hackathon or the directions can be revealed in advance. Teams are supported by experienced mentors who answer questions and provide advice.
It is important to note that similar events have already been held in Ukraine. For example, in Lviv in 2019, the NASA Space Apps Challenge Lviv 2019 took place - the largest international space hackathon organized with the support of NASA in various countries.
In 2018, more than 18,000 people from 75 countries participated in Space Apps hackathons. Space Apps is held annually and gathers innovators, programmers, designers, analysts, and space enthusiasts.
