Dangerous Times: Sweden Prepares for Long-Term Threat.

The 'People and Defense' conference took place in the Swedish town of Selén:
In the Swedish town of Selén, the 'People and Defense' conference was held, where leading politicians discussed the current security situation.
Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson emphasized the seriousness of the moment, noting that 'Sweden is not at war. But there is no peace either.' He stressed that true peace requires freedom and the absence of serious conflicts between countries.
According to the Prime Minister, Sweden and its neighbors are facing hybrid attacks - cyber attacks, disinformation, financial manipulations, and sabotage threats. Kristersson stated that the Russian threat is long-term and requires appropriate measures from the defense system. Cybersecurity, he said, is an essential component of modern defense.
Leader of the Social Democratic Party Magdalena Andersson expressed concern about the security situation in the country and stated that there is a lack of control over important public functions transferred to foreign market players, making Sweden excessively vulnerable. She also noted that the potential return of the Trump administration to power in the United States could impact international cooperation. Andersson emphasized the importance of addressing climate change and internal security issues.
