Conflict between the Polish and US Foreign Ministries over Starlink terminals

The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radoslaw Sikorski, and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio are engaged in a discussion on social media regarding the use of Starlink terminals by the Ukrainian army. The spokesperson for the Polish Foreign Ministry, Pawel Wronski, stated that this dispute has positive implications for Ukraine.

The most important element of Secretary Rubio's statement is his promise not to disconnect the Starlink terminals for Ukraine, which was confirmed by Elon Musk. Now Ukraine can be at ease, as there are no threats of disconnection.

Rubio also acknowledged that Russia's goal was the occupation of all of Ukraine, a position that Sikorski agreed with. They believe that the occupation of Ukraine would lead to a joint failure, including for the United States.

An additional positive aspect is that the American public has learned that SpaceX, which is responsible for Starlink, receives financial support from the Polish government, not just from the US.

Wronski noted that for Sikorski, Secretary Rubio is a partner, while Musk is merely a service provider. He also pointed out that SpaceX has its commercial goals, rather than charitable ones.

Ukraine has ordered nearly 25,000 Starlink terminals, and the maintenance of one costs about 5,500 hryvnias per month.
