Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Poland, Spain, and Italy issued an important statement regarding the war in Ukraine.

European allies threaten Russia with new sanctions
The foreign ministers of the main European allies of Ukraine announced on Monday their intention to intensify pressure on Russia, including the possibility of imposing new sanctions to force Moscow to agree to a ceasefire.
Diplomats from Spain, Germany, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Poland, as well as the Vice-President of the European Commission, Vera Jourova, urged Russia to agree to an 'immediate and unconditional ceasefire on equal terms and with full implementation'.
The participating G5+ countries confirmed their readiness to intensify pressure on Moscow, including imposing new sanctions to 'ensure Kyiv the best possible position to achieve a just and lasting peace'.
The participants of the meeting emphasized that they would not accept any agreements that limit Ukraine's defense industry or the military presence of partner countries on Ukrainian territory.
The countries also announced an increase in military, political, and humanitarian assistance to support Ukraine, although the amounts of funding were not specified.
European allies propose using Russian assets to aid Ukraine
The declaration also stated that Russian assets should be blocked until Moscow ends the war and compensates Ukraine for damages. Spain actively proposes the use of such assets as an alternative way of financing assistance to Ukraine or even increasing its own defense expenditures.
The USA demands a clear response from Russia regarding the peace agreement
U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his frustration over the lack of progress in concluding a peace agreement and threatens to impose new sanctions against Russia. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated that Russia owes the U.S. a clear response on whether it even wants a peace agreement.
Vera Jourova urged Russia to demonstrate goodwill regarding the ceasefire by returning Ukrainian children and prisoners of war. She also called on the U.S. to exert pressure on Russia to end the conflict.
Deployment of peacekeeping troops in Ukraine is a decision of the government
The Polish Foreign Minister, Radoslaw Sikorski, stated that the decision to deploy peacekeeping troops in Ukraine should be made by the Ukrainian government, when and whether to allow foreign troops to be on their territory.
