Norway denies protection to certain categories of Ukrainian refugees: details.

The Norwegian government has denied temporary protection to several Ukrainians who come from regions considered "safe" or did not reside in Ukraine during the Russian invasion in 2022, reports NRK.
The Norwegian government announced strict economic measures for Ukrainians and refugees from other countries due to the refugee crisis. Justice Minister Emilie Enger Mehl stated that additional economic austerity measures will be taken.
In the spring, the Norwegian government announced stricter measures for Ukrainian refugees, as many of them had arrived in the country since the start of the war in February 2022. Mehl noted that over 80 thousand Ukrainians live in Norway and it is necessary to ensure the protection of those who need it most.
Several Ukrainian refugees have already been denied asylum, but they have not yet been forcibly deported. Some are not provided with accommodation. In May, the government introduced an individual approach to reviewing the applications of Ukrainians, especially those who were not Ukrainian at the start of the war.
At the beginning of September, the list of safe regions was expanded to include Lviv, Lviv, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, and Rivne regions. Mehl noted that Ukrainians from other regions still have the right to collective protection but did not comment on the future of this rule.
Earlier, the rules for Ukrainians in Norway were changed, reducing or canceling some payments and changing residence requirements to control the immigration and integration of Ukrainian refugees.
