Occupants try to encircle Kurakhove: DeepState project reported details.
The Russian army continues to press on Kurakhove and tries to break through Ukrainian positions to encircle the city. Using a large number of equipment and infantry, the Russians are trying to develop the success they gained near Krasnohorivka, reports the monitoring project DeepState.
The fighters of the 46th Brigade of the Defense Forces are actively fighting in the area of the settlements of Hostre and Heorhiyivka-Maksymilianivka. The enemy advances towards the village of Hostre but faces strong resistance from Ukrainian infantry and is subjected to artillery and drone attacks. According to representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians are trying to bypass Maksymilianivka and Heorhiyivka but are failing.
Analysts of the project explain the enemy's pressure on Kurakhove by the success of the Russians on the line of Ukrainka-Zhelanne Perше-Nevelske. It is noted that the Russians are gathering forces and preparing for further advancement towards Hirnyk, using weak points in Ukrainian defense.
«It is not surprising that this direction of attacks is referred to as the Kurakhove direction, as the enemy's advance is occurring southward towards it. Currently, the enemy is trying to completely occupy Zhelanne Perше and clear the town of Ukrainka, while forces are being accumulated and regrouped for further advancement, particularly towards Hirnyk. Only Time will tell where the enemy will move next, as very often they simply exploit the opportunities of weak spots that allow them to move further», - noted in DeepState.
Ukrainian positions in the city of Kurakhove are already partially encircled as the enemy advances from three directions. However, the Armed Forces of Ukraine claim that they have enough means and ammunition to contain the Russian offensive and control the situation.
Russian occupants have made efforts to capture Kurakhove and Vuhledar in the Donetsk region to prevent Ukrainian troops from concentrating on strengthening the defense of Pokrovsk.
