Explosions in Sumy caused problems with electricity supply
On the evening of Wednesday, September 18, explosions occurred in Sumy, causing problems with the electricity supply in the city and region. This was reported by the acting mayor of Sumy, city council secretary Artem Kobzar, and Suspilne.
After the air raid alarm was announced in the region, explosions were heard.
In part of Sumy, electric lighting immediately disappeared after this. Problems with electricity also arose in other settlements of the Sumy region. According to Kobzar, rescuers and law enforcement officers are currently searching for the location where the explosions occurred. He urged local residents who have information about this to inform the police or firefighters.
Later it became known that at 22:03 all the water utility facilities in Sumy were turned off due to the strike.
«On September 18, at 22:03, all water utility facilities were de-energized. The transition to emergency-reserve power is being carried out (except for the third lift CTP pumps). The sewage system will be launched as a priority. In a few hours, water will be supplied to the city with reduced pressure», – Kobzar reported.
At the moment, there is no information about the injured or deceased.
