Poisoning with an unknown substance: three minor children died in Odesa region.


Three children in Odesa region were poisoned with an unknown substance, reports the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa region.
According to preliminary data, two girls aged three and five, and their seven-year-old brother consumed an unknown substance while their mother was doing household chores.
A 30-year-old woman found her children in serious condition and called an ambulance. Medics, having diagnosed poisoning with an unknown substance, tried to save the children, but unfortunately, they died, - the statement said.
In connection with this fact, investigators have entered information into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations under the signs of p. 2 ch. 2 art. 115 ('accident'), art. 166 (malicious non-performance of duties for caring for a child or a person for whom guardianship or custody has been established), ch. 1 art. 321 (illegal production, manufacture, acquisition, transportation, forwarding, storage for sale or sale of poisonous or strong-acting substances or poisonous or strong-acting medicinal agents) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
A forensic laboratory and management of the specialized unit of the investigative department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa region were sent to the scene. Law enforcement officers are inspecting the scene and establishing all the circumstances of the children's deaths.
It is worth reminding that a two-year-old girl from Ternopil region died of poisoning with a death cap mushroom on November 2 at the Lviv Children's Hospital of St. Nicholas. The child had been in critical condition since October 30 when she was admitted to the hospital with severe liver failure. Lviv medics performed an emergency liver transplant, but it did not help save the child. According to police, the family consumed mushrooms on October 27, but the mother tried to treat the children herself at home. Only after a significant deterioration in the children's condition did she seek help at the hospital.
