Paramedic Iryna Tsybukh Posthumously Awarded for Women’s Leadership.

The Ukrainian Women's Congress posthumously awarded medic Iryna Tsybukh for her contribution to the defense of Ukraine. The award was accepted by the mother of the fallen warrior, Oksana Tsybukh. She noted that her daughter was competent and contributed greatly to many fields. She also emphasized the responsibility for the dead and the need to bear witness to the evil Ukraine faced.

Oksana Tsybukh spoke about her daughter's words and thoughts regarding Ukrainian education, memory, and honoring fallen heroes. Before her death, Iryna developed a lecture on the importance of memory and researched this topic. She began working on the frontline as a nurse in 2017 and saved many soldiers.

Maria Ionova, co-founder of the women's congress, emphasized that Iryna Tsybukh was a true Ukrainian and a worthy leader. The award was named after Mary O'Hagan, who worked in Ukraine after the Revolution of Dignity and headed the office of the National Democratic Institute. The award was presented for the first Time, last year it was received by doctor and volunteer Natalia Lelyukh.

It is also noted that Lithuanian journalist and volunteer Mindaugas Josunas joined the Ukrainian military as a medical volunteer after the death of Iryna Tsybukh. He mentioned that although they never met personally, they shared many views and values.
