First frosts and shellings: energetics explained whether there will be power outages.

In the coming days, the first frosts are expected in some regions of Ukraine. Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk assured that this will not affect the electricity outage schedules. He noted that the frosts will be short-term.
Kolisnyk explained that the period of the heating season is determined at the discretion of local authorities when the air temperature remains below +8 degrees for three days. At the same Time, the drop in temperature affects electricity consumption, which requires an increase in the capacity of the energy system.
Measures are already being taken in the regions to prepare nuclear generating facilities for the demanding period. Nine power units are already ready to operate in the autumn-winter period, ensuring sufficient volumes of electricity.
Recall that the Ministry of Energy denied the UN's forecast of power outages in winter, stating that there will be no problems with energy supply. The government also hopes for an uninterrupted winter.
Due to government support, the European Commission is working on increasing the supply of electricity to Ukraine. The G7 countries and other partners have allocated over $4 billion for the restoration of Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
