A man died during the Russian strike on a civilian ship in Odesa.


In Odesa, Russian occupiers shelled a civilian ship sailing under the flag of Palau. As a result of the attack, a 60-year-old Ukrainian died. This was reported by Oleh Kiper, the head of the Odesa regional military administration.
The port infrastructure also suffered significant damage; it is reported that one of the foreigners received serious injuries, and the other five - minor injuries. All the affected are receiving necessary medical assistance. Kiper noted that this attack is another attempt by Russia to disrupt the operation of the Ukrainian Grain Corridor.
Russian attacks on Odesa
In October 2024, Russian forces intensified their attacks on Odesa, conducting shelling with heavy weaponry on the city and port. One of the largest attacks occurred on the night of October 6, when a vessel under the flag of Palau was shelled by Russian ballistic missiles.
Russians also used drones and missiles to shell the city. Information indicates that these strikes were targeted at the port infrastructure, resulting in damage to objects of significant importance for the export of Ukrainian grain.
It should be reminded that recently, Odesa and the region have constantly become targets of shelling by Russian troops. Russian military often uses ballistic missiles and drones for their attacks.
Attention is also drawn to the attacks carried out by Russian forces in the Kharkiv region. On the night of October 7, a strike was carried out on Kharkiv and its surroundings, and as a result of one of the attacks, a 73-year-old woman was injured. Moreover, in the Khmelnytskyi region, explosions were reported since early morning, and missiles landed in Starokostiantyniv.
