Father of legendary athlete Bolt has passed away.


Wesley Bolt, the father of eight-Time Olympic champion Usain Bolt, has died at the age of 68.
It is noted that Wesley Bolt passed away after a prolonged illness on Monday, March 31.
“Mr. Bolt was the father of a global icon and a strong, quiet force behind one of Jamaica's greatest sons. His presence, support, and guidance helped shape a legacy that continues to inspire the world,” said Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness.
Earlier, Wesley and his wife Jennifer Bolt ran a small grocery store in Jamaica. The couple often attended competitions in which Usain Bolt participated.
Usain also has a younger brother, Sadiki, and an older sister, Sherine, from Wesley Bolt's first marriage.
Local media noted that Wesley Bolt was a proponent of strict discipline, and mutual respect was highly valued in their family.
38-year-old Usain Bolt is an eight-time Olympic champion and an eleven-time world champion in athletics. He also holds the current world and Olympic records in the 100 and 200 meters.
Six-time Olympic champion Akinori Nakayama has passed away
Let us remind you that six-time Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics, Japanese Akinori Nakayama, passed away at the age of 83.
The cause of Nakayama's death was stomach cancer.
Nakayama won four gold medals at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico (rings, parallel bars, horizontal bar, team all-around). He won two more Olympic gold medals in 1972 in Munich (rings, team). He also has two silvers and two bronzes from the Olympics.
Additionally, Nakayama won 12 medals at world championships, including seven golds. One of the elements in ring exercises - the swinging maneuver “Nakayama” - is named in honor of the legendary Japanese athlete.
In 2005, Nakayama was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame.
