North Korean troops in Ukraine: The Third Assault Brigade named the consequences.


The deputy commander of the Third Separate Assault Brigade, Maksym Zhorin, stated that DPRK soldiers have long been collaborating with Russia in the military sphere, and therefore their presence on the front in Ukraine is not new. He noted that the combat qualities of North Korean soldiers may not be the highest, but they can still significantly impact the situation on the front, even if they replace Russian units. The deputy commander also emphasized that the North Koreans do not have limitations in providing assistance, as is the case with Ukraine's western partners. Meanwhile, Kim Yong Hyun, the head of South Korea's Ministry of Defense, expressed the opinion that there is a high probability of North Korean military involvement in the war on Russia's side in Ukraine. This information is also confirmed by a report from the Institute for the Study of War, which states that soldiers from North Korea are participating in the war in Ukraine, and some of the personnel are receiving military training in Russia for a possible future deployment alongside Russian forces. Overall, the presence of North Korean military on the front is associated with the Russian side's use of North Korean weapons.
