The Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, reported on the technical consultations held with the United States of America in Riyadh. One of the main issues discussed was the restrictions for Russian military vessels in the Black Sea.

During the negotiations, issues such as the security of energy and critical infrastructure, safe navigation in the Black Sea, as well as the release of Ukrainian prisoners and the return of deported children were considered.

'In carrying out the tasks of the President of Ukraine, we continue to work towards the establishment of a just peace and guaranteeing security for our state. This meeting is a logical continuation of successful consultations with the USA in Jeddah,' Umerov stated.

Particular attention was paid to maritime security. Ukraine emphasized the necessity of fulfilling agreements and noted that any movement of Russian military vessels beyond the eastern part of the Black Sea will be considered a violation of obligations to ensure freedom of navigation. In such a case, Ukraine has the right to self-defense.

After the negotiations, the parties agreed to prohibit strikes on energy facilities in Russia and Ukraine, as well as measures to ensure safe navigation in the Black Sea. The USA also pledged to assist in the exchange of prisoners of war and the release of detained civilians.

Umerov emphasized the importance of conducting additional technical consultations to agree on all details and control the implementation of the agreements made.
