Fire at Zaporizhzhia NPP territory ceased.


A fire broke out at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, but it has already been extinguished, reported the head of the Dnipropetrovsk RMA Serhiy Lysak.
According to the head of RMA, the situation is under control.
Fire at ZNPP: incident details
During the fire, cooling tower number one caught fire and other equipment was damaged. The incident occurred around 20:00 at the technical water supply facility.
Witnesses saw thick smoke rising from the northern part of Zaporizhzhia NPP after a series of explosions.
According to the IAEA, the incident occurred due to a «probable drone attack» on one of the cooling towers. It is worth noting that the station is under the control of Russian troops, who are declared occupiers.
President's reaction
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the information about the fire caused by Russian occupiers at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant. He noted that radiation levels are currently normal, but the situation remains dangerous due to the presence of Russian troops at the plant.
