Leaders' Summit in Paris without Europe
Moreover, Keir Starmer participated in an emergency summit of European leaders in Paris, which was initiated by French President Emmanuel Macron. The summit was convened after it became known that Europe was not involved in the initial peace negotiations between the USA and Russia.
Growth of support from other allied countries
Starmer believes that his decision may influence the position of other allied countries, including Germany, to support the idea of sending European peacekeepers to Ukraine. Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky, along with his wife, went on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates. The main task of the visit is to secure the release of Ukrainian hostages and to attract investments. The President expressed hope for the success of this visit.
