The Prosecutor's Office checked shelters after complaints from Kharkiv residents.


A check of the shelters in Kharkiv was conducted following a scandalous incident on July 7, when residents were unable to access a shelter during a drone attack. Social media spread videos with complaints about this situation, after which reports of similar cases began to come in.
According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, inspections revealed that some shelters were locked or cluttered, and due to prompt actions, the deficiencies were eliminated by the next day. The Prosecutor's Office urged citizens to report cases of inaccessibility of shelters and promised to respond to every signal.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office stated that jointly with the police, local authorities, and the State Emergency Service, inspections of the state and accessibility of protective structures in the city were carried out, resulting in violations that have already been corrected.
It should be noted that the Kharkiv region recently became a target for attacks, and just last night, on July 11, Russian drones attacked a maternity hospital, resulting in injuries to women and infants.
As a result of the scandalous incident on July 7, when Kharkiv residents could not find shelter from drone attacks, government structures conducted inspections of the accessibility of protective structures in the city. Violations were identified but have already been corrected. Specialists urge citizens to report deficiencies in the shelter system and promised to quickly respond to signals about issues.
