Despite the agreement on a 30-day ceasefire, Russia continues to attack Ukraine with missiles and drones, as well as damaging Ukrainian infrastructure. Former Ukrainian ambassador to France and the US Oleg Shamshur warns that even with the arrival of foreign peacekeepers in Ukraine, the aggressor state may not cease its actions.

Putin will try to provoke or even attack peacekeeping units, Shamshur says. He wants to test the West's reaction: to see how they will respond to his actions. If Western leaders only make statements without taking active measures, Putin will act even more ruthlessly. His presence will not be a serious constraint on further aggression.

Earlier, it was reported that the Ukrainian authorities have a list of countries ready to send military contingents to Ukraine to ensure a ceasefire.

The United Kingdom, Germany, and France have already announced their readiness to send their troops to Ukraine.

British Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated that Putin should not have the right to veto the presence of European peacekeepers in Ukraine if a ceasefire agreement is reached.
