Rescuers recovered the bodies of passengers from a bus that was attacked in Sumy region
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, specialists managed to unblock the bodies of passengers from a scheduled bus that was targeted by enemy attack in the Sumy region.
It is worth noting that the attack occurred on the morning of May 17 during the bus's departure from the city of Bilopillia in the Sumy district. Reports indicate that the bus was attacked by a drone.
Subscribe to the channel «Glavkom» on TelegramEmergency Service specialists used special equipment to unblock the bodies of the deceased from the damaged bus. According to official data, 9 people died as a result of the attack, and 7 were injured.
Testimony from Bilopillia's mayor Yuriy Zarka indicates that the bus was attacked by two drones - one for reconnaissance and the other for an assault. The latter drone targeted directly at the bus's roof and exploded inside it.
During the attack, nine passengers were killed, including 4 men and 5 women. Another 5 people were injured - 3 women and 2 men, including the driver, who were taken to hospitals. Doctors report that the condition of two women is critical.
«The enemy continues to cynically strike our civilians. An attack was carried out using the UAV «Lancet» on the scheduled bus while leaving Bilopillia,” emphasized the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration Oleg Grigoryev.
We remind you that drones are becoming increasingly popular as weapons systems used in various conflicts and wars, particularly in populated areas. Attacks on civilians are a violation of international humanitarian law and have catastrophic consequences for the civilian population.
