Ukraine used eight ATACMS missiles in an attack on a Russian arsenal
According to an American source, Ukrainian forces used eight ATACMS missiles in an attack on a Russian arsenal in the Bryansk region. Of this number of missiles, only two were destroyed. This contradicts claims from the Russian Ministry of Defense, which asserts that five out of six missiles were intercepted, and the fire at the site was minor. Ukrainian sources report that the arsenal in Karachev was targeted in the attack.
According to reports from The New York Times, CNN, and NPR, this was the first instance in which Ukraine has used long-range ATACMS missiles against Russia. CNN reports that the Russian arsenal was damaged as a result of the attack.
Currently, U.S. officials have not confirmed granting Ukraine permission to use American weapons for strikes on Russian territory.
