Russians likely to launch second ballistic missile 'Oreshnik' at Ukraine – Forbes.

On the morning of February 6, Russians likely launched a second ballistic missile named 'Oreshnik' at Ukraine. It was supposed to fly towards Kyiv. However, the missile exploded on the territory of the Russian Federation. This is reported by Forbes.
According to the report, air raid sirens sounded in Kyiv, residents rushed to shelters, but there was no strike. No sound of warheads entering the atmosphere was heard, and there were no explosions on the ground.
Currently, Ukrainian authorities have not officially confirmed the information regarding the launch of the 'Oreshnik' missile. This information was reported by Forbes correspondent Kyrylo Sazonov.
In his Telegram, the renowned journalist wrote that the missile 'did not fly far' and exploded in Russia due to a technical malfunction.
It should be noted that Russia tested an experimental medium-range ballistic missile during an attack on Dnipro. The country likely has only a few such missiles. The United States had previously warned Ukraine and other countries about the possible use of this missile.
The launch of the 'Oreshnik' missile is a reaction to the US plans to create and deploy intermediate and shorter-range missiles in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. This missile is designed to carry nuclear warheads. Russian leader Vladimir Putin stated that the missile did not contain a nuclear warhead.
According to Putin, there are no means that could counter the 'Oreshnik' missiles. The speed of these missiles, he said, is 10 Mach, equivalent to 2.5-3 kilometers per second.
As a note, analysts from the publication Defense Express published a photo of the missile fragments, showing the serial number and production date of one of the parts - April 12, 2017.
