Successful hunting for the lethal Russian weapon. The pilot of the Ukrainian helicopter successfully shot down a Russian 'Shahed' that was trying to destroy the Ukrainian energy infrastructure. This drone was 'landed' outside the populated area to avoid unnecessary destruction and casualties among the civilian population,' the publication states.
In the video recording, one can see how the drone changes course, starts to spin chaotically in the air, falls to the ground, and explodes.
Recall that a 'Shahed' can fly over Ukraine for more than 24 hours, the Air Forces reported.
Former spokesman of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces Ilya Yevlash mentioned that he himself saw how a 'Shahed' flew for more than 24 hours over Ukraine, especially over protected areas. The Armed Forces of Ukraine long hunted this drone, but eventually managed to shoot it down. It can fly for up to 24 hours, Yevlash noted.
He also pointed out that 'Shaheds' can differ from each other, for example, some have larger fuel tanks, while others have fewer munitions.
In general, the Air Forces explained that the location loss of the drone could be caused by various reasons such as malfunction or disruption of electronic warfare, as well as running out of fuel.
